Trainer Dicky Eklund Dicky
Eklund had an outstanding amateur boxing career wining
many Golden Gloves and AAU tournaments before turning
professional in 1975. During his 10 year pro career
which included an exciting 10 round fight with Sugar Ray
Leonard and many other top contenders.
Dicky always found time to work with the kids at the gym. Especially his younger brother Micky Ward who also had an outstanding amateur and pro boxing career that ended with the world famous 2002-2003 trilogy against Arturo Gatti. Kenny Barrett and Dicky have been friends for over 25 years and formed a partnership 2 years ago managing and training fighters from New England and Florida. Dicky is one of the best trainers in the world and will continue his success as a trainer because he knows the hard work, determination and loyalty it takes to make it in the boxing business.
